This particular course, designed for Class B CDL applicants, pertains to commercial vehicles as defined in 49 CFR 383.91(a)(2). This online course provides training in all theory topic areas under the FMCSA Entry-Level Driver Training requirements for those individuals who apply for a CDL or CDL upgrade on or after February 7, 2022.

Begin your journey to a new career 

As required in the FMCSRs, this training will introduce driver-trainees to the following: Basic Operation, Safe Operating Procedures, Advanced Operating Practices, Vehicle Systems, and Reporting Malfunctions, Non-Driving Activities. Throughout each training module, several multiple-choice questions will be presented to the student, this delivery method allows students to demonstrate the necessary level of mastery upon completion of the course, and there is a final exam where students can test their knowledge, it's necessary to approve it to get the certificate. Students can start and stop the training at any time and return where they left off whenever they choose. 

Please note: the animations in this course utilize Class A tractor-trailer images, but concepts taught still apply to Class B trucks
